A lasting place to sit and remember

A memorial bench gives family and friends somewhere to pause, sit together and remember. Each of our benches is made from solid oak, and your words are carved into the wood by hand, so no two are ever the same.

Choose a bench, send us your wording or your own sketch, and we will plan the inscription with you before carving begins.

Names, dates, messages or a small symbol such as a leaf or heart

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We created 'The Boardwalk' just by the river and realised something was missing and then we found The Rustic Company through a recommendation from a friend and chose these two beautiful and very charming benches that just look like they were meant to be in this position.
We held our wedding reception garden party at our property 4 weeks ago and they were used by so many of our guests and one of the things I love about them is that you can fit 3 or 4 people on them and because they don't have arms on them you can also fit a small one on the end. They are weathering very well and if it's possible becoming more gorgeous.
We are now in the process of ordering another one to add to our collection and dealing with Rasa from The Rustic Company is a pleasure, they are so helpful and actually listen to what we want.

Questions about memorial benches

How long does an engraved bench take?

Engraved benches are hand-carved to order and usually take around [X] weeks from when we agree your wording. Email us at mail@therusticcompany.com if you have a date in mind.

What can be carved on the bench?

Names, dates, a short message or a small symbol such as a leaf or heart. You can choose from our lettering styles or send us a sketch of your own design.

Can I place a memorial bench in a park, churchyard or cemetery?

Usually yes, but councils, churches and cemeteries normally need you to ask permission first, and some have rules on size and style. Check with them before ordering; we can give you the bench dimensions to share.

Will the oak crack or change colour?

Thick solid oak naturally moves with the weather, so small cracks and splits will appear over time and the wood will slowly weather to a silver-grey. This is normal and does not affect the strength of the bench.

Do you deliver across the UK?

Yes. [Add delivery cost and any areas excluded.]

Do you supply councils, churches and organisations?

Yes. Get in touch for multiple benches, delivery to site or invoice payment.

Not sure which bench to choose?

Tell us where it will go and what you would like it to say, and we will help you find the right bench.
